公父文(wen)伯退朝,朝其(qi)(qi)母,其(qi)(qi)母方(fang)绩,文(wen)伯曰:「以之(zhi)(zhi)家而(er)(er)主(zhu)犹绩,惧干季孙之(zhi)(zhi)怒也。其(qi)(qi)以为不(bu)能事(shi)主(zhu)乎(hu)?」其(qi)(qi)母叹曰:「鲁其(qi)(qi)亡乎(hu)?使僮子备官而(er)(er)未之(zhi)(zhi)闻(wen)耶?居,吾语女(nv)。昔圣(sheng)王之(zhi)(zhi)处民(min)(min)也,择瘠土而(er)(er)处之(zhi)(zhi),劳(lao)其(qi)(qi)民(min)(min)而(er)(er)用(yong)之(zhi)(zhi),故长王天下。夫民(min)(min)劳(lao)则思,思则善心生;逸(yi)则淫(yin),淫(yin)则忘(wang)善,忘(wang)善则恶心生。沃(wo)土之(zhi)(zhi)民(min)(min)不(bu)材,淫(yin)也。瘠土之(zhi)(zhi)民(min)(min),莫(mo)不(bu)向(xiang)义,劳(lao)也。
是故天(tian)子(zi)(zi)大(da)采(cai)朝日(ri),与三公(gong)九(jiu)卿祖(zu)识地德,日(ri)中(zhong)考(kao)(kao)政(zheng),与百官之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)政(zheng)事(shi)(shi)。师尹惟旅牧相,宣(xuan)序民事(shi)(shi)。少采(cai)夕(xi)月(yue),与大(da)史司载,纠虔天(tian)刑(xing)。日(ri)入(ru),监(jian)九(jiu)御,使洁奉禘郊(jiao)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)粢盛(sheng),而(er)(er)后(hou)即(ji)安(an)。诸(zhu)侯(hou)朝修天(tian)子(zi)(zi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)业命(ming),昼考(kao)(kao)其(qi)(qi)国(guo)职,夕(xi)省其(qi)(qi)典(dian)刑(xing),夜儆百工,使无(wu)慆(tao)淫,而(er)(er)后(hou)即(ji)安(an)。卿大(da)夫朝考(kao)(kao)其(qi)(qi)职,昼讲其(qi)(qi)庶政(zheng),夕(xi)序其(qi)(qi)业,夜庀(pi)其(qi)(qi)家事(shi)(shi),而(er)(er)后(hou)即(ji)安(an)。士(shi)朝受业,昼而(er)(er)讲贯,夕(xi)而(er)(er)习复,夜而(er)(er)计过,无(wu)憾,而(er)(er)后(hou)即(ji)安(an)。自(zi)庶人(ren)以(yi)(yi)下(xia)(xia),明而(er)(er)动,晦而(er)(er)休,无(wu)日(ri)以(yi)(yi)怠。王後亲织玄紞;公(gong)侯(hou)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)夫人(ren),加之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以(yi)(yi)纮(hong)綖。卿之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)内子(zi)(zi)为大(da)带,命(ming)妇成祭服(fu)(fu),列士(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)妻加之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)以(yi)(yi)朝服(fu)(fu)。自(zi)庶士(shi)以(yi)(yi)下(xia)(xia),皆衣其(qi)(qi)夫。社而(er)(er)赋事(shi)(shi),蒸而(er)(er)献(xian)功,男女(nv)效绩,愆则(ze)有辟(pi),古之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)制也。君子(zi)(zi)劳心,小(xiao)人(ren)劳力,先王之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)训也。自(zi)上以(yi)(yi)下(xia)(xia),谁敢(gan)淫心舍力?
今我寡(gua)也,尔又在下位(wei),朝夕处事,犹恐忘先(xian)人(ren)之业。况有怠惰,其(qi)何以避辟(pi)?吾(wu)冀而朝夕修我,曰:『必无废先(xian)人(ren)。』尔今曰:『胡不自安?』以是承君之官,余(yu)惧穆伯之绝祀也。」
仲尼闻之(zhi)曰:「弟(di)子志(zhi)之(zhi),季氏之(zhi)妇(fu)不淫矣!」
