卷二十 聘礼第八

  夫(fu)人使下大夫(fu)劳(lao)以二竹簋(gui)方(fang),玄(xuan)被纁(xun)里,有盖(gai)。竹簋(gui)方(fang)者(zhe),器名(ming)也。以竹为之,状如(ru)簋(gui)而方(fang),如(ru)今寒(han)具筥。筥者(zhe)圜,此方(fang)耳。

  ○释(shi)曰:自此(ci)(ci)尽“以(yi)宾入”,论夫人(ren)(ren)劳(lao)宾之(zhi)事。夫人(ren)(ren)劳(lao)使下(xia)大(da)夫者(zhe),降于君,故不使卿(qing)。凡簋(gui)皆用木而(er)(er)圆,受斗二(er)升,此(ci)(ci)则(ze)用竹而(er)(er)方(fang),故云“如(ru)簋(gui)而(er)(er)方(fang)”。受斗二(er)升则(ze)同(tong)。“如(ru)今寒具筥”者(zhe),寒具,若《笾(bian)人(ren)(ren)》先郑云:“朝(chao)事,谓清(qing)朝(chao)未食,先进寒具,口实之(zhi)笾(bian)实以(yi)冬(dong)食。”故谓之(zhi)寒具。筥圆,此(ci)(ci)方(fang)者(zhe),方(fang)圆不同(tong),为异(yi)也。案(an)(an)《玉人(ren)(ren)》云:“案(an)(an)十有二(er)寸,枣(zao)栗十有二(er)列,诸侯(hou)纯(chun)九,大(da)夫纯(chun)五,夫人(ren)(ren)以(yi)劳(lao)诸侯(hou)。”彼(bi)有玉案(an)(an)者(zhe),谓王后法有玉案(an)(an),并有竹簋(gui)以(yi)盛枣(zao)栗,故彼(bi)引(yin)此(ci)(ci)为证(zheng)。此(ci)(ci)诸侯(hou)夫人(ren)(ren)劳(lao)卿(qing)大(da)夫,故无案(an)(an),直(zhi)有竹簋(gui)以(yi)盛枣(zao)栗。

其实(shi)枣蒸栗(li)择,兼执之以进。兼犹两也。右手执枣,左手执栗(li)。

  ○释(shi)曰:云“兼(jian),犹两(liang)”者,谓一人(ren)执(zhi)(zhi)两(liang)事,知“右(you)手(shou)执(zhi)(zhi)枣(zao)(zao),左手(shou)执(zhi)(zhi)栗(li)”者,见下文(wen)云“宾受枣(zao)(zao),大夫(fu)二(er)手(shou)授栗(li)”,则大夫(fu)先(xian)度右(you)手(shou),乃以左手(shou)共授栗(li),便也。明知右(you)手(shou)执(zhi)(zhi)枣(zao)(zao)可知,必用右(you)手(shou)执(zhi)(zhi)枣(zao)(zao)先(xian)度之者,郑注《士虞(yu)礼(li)》云“枣(zao)(zao)美,故用右(you)手(shou)执(zhi)(zhi)枣(zao)(zao)也”。

宾受枣,大(da)夫二手(shou)(shou)授栗。受授不游手(shou)(shou),慎之(zhi)也。

  ○释曰:初两手(shou)俱用(yong),既(ji)受枣,不共授栗,游暇(xia)一手(shou),不慎也。今(jin)右手(shou)授枣讫,即共授栗,不游手(shou),为谨(jin)慎也。

宾之受(shou),如初礼。如卿劳之仪。

傧之(zhi)如(ru)初。下大夫劳者遂以宾入(ru)。出以束锦(jin)授从者,因东面释(shi)辞,请道之(zhi)以入(ru),然(ran)则宾送(song)不拜。

  ○释曰:云(yun)“出以(yi)(yi)(yi)束(shu)锦授(shou)从(cong)(cong)(cong)(cong)者(zhe)(zhe),因东面(mian)释辞,请导之(zhi)(zhi)”者(zhe)(zhe),傧(bin)下大(da)(da)(da)夫(fu)(fu),如(ru)前有束(shu)锦,则此大(da)(da)(da)夫(fu)(fu)亦(yi)受得束(shu)锦。经言“遂以(yi)(yi)(yi)宾(bin)(bin)(bin)入”,明知有辞请导之(zhi)(zhi)。虽(sui)无(wu)文,郑(zheng)(zheng)以(yi)(yi)(yi)意言之(zhi)(zhi)。大(da)(da)(da)夫(fu)(fu)在西(xi),明出时授(shou)束(shu)锦与已(yi)从(cong)(cong)(cong)(cong)者(zhe)(zhe),乃得因东面(mian)释请导之(zhi)(zhi)辞也。云(yun)“然则宾(bin)(bin)(bin)送(song)不(bu)(bu)(bu)拜(bai)(bai)”者(zhe)(zhe),以(yi)(yi)(yi)其云(yun)遂以(yi)(yi)(yi)宾(bin)(bin)(bin)入即从(cong)(cong)(cong)(cong)之(zhi)(zhi),明宾(bin)(bin)(bin)送(song)不(bu)(bu)(bu)拜(bai)(bai),谓(wei)若(ruo)《公食大(da)(da)(da)夫(fu)(fu)》使(shi)人(ren)戒宾(bin)(bin)(bin),“不(bu)(bu)(bu)拜(bai)(bai)送(song),遂从(cong)(cong)(cong)(cong)之(zhi)(zhi)”,其类也。案(an)上(shang)君使(shi)士请,遂以(yi)(yi)(yi)宾(bin)(bin)(bin)入,郑(zheng)(zheng)云(yun)因导之(zhi)(zhi)。郑(zheng)(zheng)不(bu)(bu)(bu)言宾(bin)(bin)(bin)送(song)不(bu)(bu)(bu)拜(bai)(bai)者(zhe)(zhe),士请事空手无(wu)币,宾(bin)(bin)(bin)亦(yi)不(bu)(bu)(bu)傧(bin),请导宾(bin)(bin)(bin),宾(bin)(bin)(bin)从(cong)(cong)(cong)(cong)入,无(wu)再拜(bai)(bai)送(song)之(zhi)(zhi)理(li),故郑(zheng)(zheng)不(bu)(bu)(bu)言宾(bin)(bin)(bin)送(song)不(bu)(bu)(bu)拜(bai)(bai)。此大(da)(da)(da)夫(fu)(fu)劳傧(bin),与卿同有拜(bai)(bai)送(song)之(zhi)(zhi)理(li),故云(yun)宾(bin)(bin)(bin)送(song)不(bu)(bu)(bu)拜(bai)(bai)也。《觐(jin)礼》大(da)(da)(da)夫(fu)(fu)劳侯氏,侯氏即从(cong)(cong)(cong)(cong)大(da)(da)(da)夫(fu)(fu)入,拜(bai)(bai)送(song)大(da)(da)(da)夫(fu)(fu)。天子使(shi)尊,故虽(sui)从(cong)(cong)(cong)(cong)亦(yi)拜(bai)(bai)送(song),与此异。

至于朝,主人(ren)曰:“不(bu)腆(tian)先君(jun)之祧(tiao),既拚以俟矣。”宾至外门(men),下大夫入告,出(chu)释(shi)此(ci)辞。主人(ren)者(zhe)(zhe),公(gong)也(ye)。不(bu)言公(gong)而言主人(ren),主人(ren),接宾之辞,明至欲(yu)受之,不(bu)敢稽(ji)宾也(ye)。腆(tian)犹(you)善(shan)也(ye)。迁主所在曰祧(tiao)。周(zhou)礼(li),天子(zi)七庙,文(wen)武为祧(tiao),诸侯(hou)五庙。则祧(tiao),始祖也(ye),是亦庙也(ye)。言祧(tiao)者(zhe)(zhe),祧(tiao)尊而庙亲,待宾客(ke)者(zhe)(zhe),上(shang)尊者(zhe)(zhe)。

  ○释曰(yue):自此(ci)尽“俟閒”,论宾(bin)(bin)(bin)初(chu)至(zhi),主(zhu)君请行聘(pin)礼(li),宾(bin)(bin)(bin)又请俟閒之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)事。云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“至(zhi)于朝(chao)”者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),郑(zheng)云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“宾(bin)(bin)(bin)至(zhi)外门(men)”者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),外门(men)即(ji)(ji)诸(zhu)侯(hou)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)外朝(chao),故(gu)下(xia)云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“以柩造朝(chao)”,亦谓大门(men)外为(wei)外朝(chao)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“下(xia)大夫入告,出释此(ci)辞”者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),此(ci)下(xia)大夫即(ji)(ji)夫人(ren)劳宾(bin)(bin)(bin)导宾(bin)(bin)(bin)入者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“明(ming)至(zhi)欲受之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),不(bu)敢稽宾(bin)(bin)(bin)”,案(an)《觐礼(li)》云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun):“侯(hou)氏遂从之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),天(tian)(tian)子赐(ci)舍。”郑(zheng)云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“且使即(ji)(ji)安(an)”,不(bu)即(ji)(ji)言(yan)欲受之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),彼天(tian)(tian)子以诸(zhu)侯(hou)为(wei)臣,故(gu)使且安(an)。此(ci)邻国聘(pin)宾(bin)(bin)(bin),不(bu)臣人(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)臣,故(gu)言(yan)不(bu)敢稽宾(bin)(bin)(bin)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“迁(qian)(qian)(qian)主(zhu)所(suo)(suo)在(zai)曰(yue)祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao)”者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),此(ci)总解(jie)天(tian)(tian)子诸(zhu)侯(hou)称祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“周(zhou)(zhou)礼(li):天(tian)(tian)子七庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao),文(wen)武为(wei)祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao)”者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),案(an)《周(zhou)(zhou)礼(li)·大宗伯序(xu)官·守祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao)职》云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“奄(yan)八人(ren)”,郑(zheng)注云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun):“远(yuan)庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)曰(yue)祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao)。”又《守祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao)职》云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“掌(zhang)守先王先公之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao)”,郑(zheng)注云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun):“庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)谓大祖(zu)(zu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao),及(ji)三昭三穆,迁(qian)(qian)(qian)主(zhu)所(suo)(suo)藏(zang)曰(yue)祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao),先公之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)迁(qian)(qian)(qian)主(zhu)藏(zang)于后稷之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)。先王之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)迁(qian)(qian)(qian)主(zhu)藏(zang)于文(wen)武之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)。”云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)奄(yan)八人(ren),庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)有一奄(yan),周(zhou)(zhou)立七庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao),通姜(jiang)嫄庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)为(wei)八,故(gu)奄(yan)八人(ren)。《祭法》,郑(zheng)注云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun):“祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)言(yan)超也(ye)(ye)(ye)。超,上去意(yi)也(ye)(ye)(ye),不(bu)毁之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。”云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“迁(qian)(qian)(qian)主(zhu)所(suo)(suo)藏(zang)曰(yue)祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao)”,天(tian)(tian)子有二(er)祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao),以藏(zang)迁(qian)(qian)(qian)主(zhu),诸(zhu)侯(hou)无二(er)祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao),迁(qian)(qian)(qian)主(zhu)藏(zang)于大祖(zu)(zu)庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao),故(gu)此(ci)名大祖(zu)(zu)庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)为(wei)祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“既拚”者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),《少仪》云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun):“扫席前曰(yue)拚。”拚者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),扫除之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)名。云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“诸(zhu)侯(hou)五庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)”,《王制》与(yu)《祭法》文(wen)。云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)“则祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao),始(shi)祖(zu)(zu),是(shi)亦庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)也(ye)(ye)(ye),言(yan)祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao)尊而庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)亲,待宾(bin)(bin)(bin)客者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),上尊者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)”,下(xia)文(wen)“迎宾(bin)(bin)(bin)於大门(men),揖(yi)入,及(ji)庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)门(men)”,受宾(bin)(bin)(bin)聘(pin)享皆在(zai)庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)。此(ci)云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)先君之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao),明(ming)下(xia)云(yun)(yun)(yun)(yun)庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)是(shi)大祖(zu)(zu)庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)可知。是(shi)以於大祖(zu)(zu)庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)受聘(pin)享,尊之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。若飨(xiang)食则於祢庙(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao),燕又在(zai)寝(qin),弥相亲也(ye)(ye)(ye)。此(ci)郑(zheng)义。若孔(kong)君、王肃,则以高祖(zu)(zu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)父及(ji)祖(zu)(zu)为(wei)二(er)祧(tiao)(tiao)(tiao),非(fei)郑(zheng)义也(ye)(ye)(ye)。

宾曰:“俟閒。”宾之意不欲奄卒(zu)主人也。且以道路悠远,欲沐浴(yu)齐戒,俟閒,未敢闻命。

  ○释曰(yue):此(ci)郑(zheng)以意解(jie)之(zhi)。上文(wen)以意解(jie)主(zhu)君不欲(yu)稽留於宾(bin)。此(ci)经(jing)解(jie)“宾(bin)意不欲(yu)奄卒主(zhu)人”,故云(yun)(yun)“俟閒(xian)”。必知有齐(qi)戒沐(mu)(mu)(mu)浴(yu)(yu)(yu)者,案《玉藻》云(yun)(yun):“将適公所,宿(su)齐(qi)戒,沐(mu)(mu)(mu)浴(yu)(yu)(yu)。”彼谓臣见己(ji)君入(ru)庙,必须齐(qi)戒沐(mu)(mu)(mu)浴(yu)(yu)(yu),此(ci)有齐(qi)戒沐(mu)(mu)(mu)浴(yu)(yu)(yu)可(ke)知也。云(yun)(yun)“未敢闻(wen)命(ming)”者,谓不腆先君之(zhi)祧,既拚以俟之(zhi)命(ming),不敢闻(wen)之(zhi)也。

大夫帅至(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)于馆,卿致馆。致,至(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)也。宾至(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)此馆,主人以上卿礼致之(zhi),所以安之(zhi)也。

宾皮弁聘(pin),至于(yu)朝。宾入(ru)于(yu)次。服(fu)皮弁者(zhe),朝聘(pin)主相(xiang)尊敬(jing)也。诸侯视(shi)朔皮弁服(fu)。入(ru)于(yu)次者(zhe),俟辨也。次在大门(men)外之西,以帷(wei)为(wei)之。

宾(bin)立接西(xi)(xi)塾(shu)。接犹近也。门侧之堂谓之塾(shu)。立近塾(shu)者,已与主君交礼,将(jiang)有出(chu)命(ming),俟之於(wu)此。介在(zai)币南,北面西(xi)(xi)上(shang)(shang)(shang),上(shang)(shang)(shang)摈亦随公(gong)入门东,东上(shang)(shang)(shang),少进(jin)於(wu)士。

几(ji)筵(yan)(yan)既设,摈者(zhe)(zhe)出请命。有几(ji)筵(yan)(yan)者(zhe)(zhe),以其(qi)庙(miao)受,宜依神也。宾(bin)至(zhi)(zhi)庙(miao)门,司(si)宫(gong)乃于依前设之。神尊,不豫事(shi)也。席西(xi)上,上摈待而(er)出请受宾(bin)所以来之命,重(zhong)停(ting)宾(bin)也。至(zhi)(zhi)此言命,事(shi)弥至(zhi)(zhi),言弥信(xin)也。《周礼》:“诸侯祭祀,席蒲筵(yan)(yan),缋纯,右彫(diao)几(ji)。”

贾人东(dong)面坐启椟(du),取(qu)圭,垂(chui)缫(sao),不(bu)起而(er)授上介。贾人乡(xiang)入陈币,东(dong)面俟,於此(ci)言(yan)之,就(jiu)有(you)事也。授圭不(bu)起,贱(jian)不(bu)与(yu)为(wei)礼也。不(bu)言(yan)裼袭者,贱(jian)不(bu)裼也。缫(sao),有(you)组系也。

摈(bin)者(zhe)退,负东塾而立(li)。反其等位,无事(shi)。宾降,介逆(ni)(ni)出。逆(ni)(ni)出,由便。宾出。聘事(shi)毕。

裼(ti)(ti),降立。裼(ti)(ti)者(zhe),免上衣,见裼(ti)(ti)衣。凡(fan)当盛礼者(zhe),以充美(mei)为(wei)敬(jing)(jing)。非盛礼者(zhe),以见美(mei)为(wei)敬(jing)(jing)。礼尚相(xiang)变也(ye)(ye)(ye)。《玉藻(zao)》曰:“裘(qiu)(qiu)(qiu)之裼(ti)(ti)也(ye)(ye)(ye),见美(mei)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。”又曰:“麛(mi)裘(qiu)(qiu)(qiu)青犴褎,绞衣以裼(ti)(ti)之。”《论语》曰:“素(su)衣,麛(mi)裘(qiu)(qiu)(qiu)。”皮弁时或素(su)衣,其裘(qiu)(qiu)(qiu)同可(ke)知也(ye)(ye)(ye)。裘(qiu)(qiu)(qiu)者(zhe)为(wei)温,表之,为(wei)其亵也(ye)(ye)(ye)。寒暑(shu)之服,冬则裘(qiu)(qiu)(qiu),夏则葛(ge)。凡(fan)襢裼(ti)(ti)者(zhe)左,降立,俟享也(ye)(ye)(ye)。亦於中庭。古文(wen)裼(ti)(ti)皆作赐。
